This time last year as I was excitedly preparing for my 40th birthday celebrations, if someone had sat me down and told me that by Summer 2017 I’d be expecting a baby there is no way I would’ve believed them…
I was heading into my 40’s as a single parent, no boyfriend (not even a sniff of one in sight) and I was completely focussed on getting ‘Fit For Forty’!
I’d teamed up with my closest friends, purchased a Fitbit and we were all determined to be in the best shape of our lives.
I remember pacing up and down during business presentations and training seminars just to get my steps in to stay ahead of the competition with the girls!
My son, Will, was 11 and Rosie, my little girl was 10 – born just 17 months apart they were, and still are, my whole world. Everything I had achieved to date in my business had been purely for them.
All the goals I set and the blood, sweat, and tears that went into achieving them had been totally worth it. We were now living a life beyond our wildest dreams together. We had an amazing summer mapped out, packed full of holidays and exciting day trips…The Three Musketeers!
To say the last 6 months have been a whirlwind is a bit of an understatement…
Two major house renovations have almost been completed, several holidays have taken place, lots of successful family and pet dog introductions, plus a surprise baby!
I’ve never been one to do things by halves and at forty I knew what I wanted so why waste time?
If there’s one thing I learned in my thirties it was that life is short.
You should never waste a moment – there is no time to leave important words unsaid. Tomorrow is never promised so if you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it.
Do what makes YOU happy. Be with those that make you smile, and love and live life to the max…
So, here I am, four months pregnant… About to be a mummy again after 10 years.
Scared and apprehensive? – hell yes!
Who wouldn’t be going back to all that baby stuff?!
But, I’m super excited at what’s to come as this time around I am financially secure and have lots of time on my hands thanks to my residual income…
This little lady is certainly going to have a very different start to life.
Will and Rosie are beyond excited to meet their baby sister and I just can’t wait for the next few months to unfold.

I will keep you posted on the good, the bad and the ugly moments of being a Mum again at 40!
