7 Essential Ways To Generate More Network Marketing Leads


We live in a time where generating network marketing leads has become easier than ever before. 

Long gone are the days where you would have to go knocking from door to door or scouring the mall for people to talk to.

The invention of the internet has been a game-changer, not only for network marketing businesses but for all businesses in general. 

Times are changing rapidly and it’s easy to miss something at the blink of an eye if you don’t keep up. 

When I first started building my Forever Living business some 14 years ago, I did it predominantly with the use of Facebook. Now there is a multitude of powerful ways one can generate MLM leads both online and offline. 

In this article, I give you some valuable advice on how to prepare before you market for leads, how not to generate leads and ways you can find the best leads. 

So grab yourself a cuppa or pour a cheeky glass of something red or white, settle in and let’s dive right in. 

Before You Begin Marketing For Leads

The most important thing to do before you look to generate any leads is determining who your target audience is and where you will potentially be able to find them — physically or virtually.

First and foremost, get clear on the need or want your product or service can address. For example, joining your network marketing business can help a person fulfil a need for more income. 

Or, perhaps the wellness products you sell can assist people in their desire to be strong and healthy.

When you are clear on the above you’ll be able to identify the people most likely to have that need or want which = target audience. 

My target audience is mums, particularly mums who are stay-at-home and looking for a way to generate income while still “mumming” it 24/7.

Remember that no matter what method you use to generate MLM leads, your target audience should always be kept top of mind when it comes to the strategy and message you use. 

Always consider their needs and desires, and how you or your product or service can help fulfil them—think like an entrepreneur!

7 Ways To Generate The Best Network Marketing Leads

1. Create A Website

This is what I did and it’s been one of the best business decisions I made for myself. 

I advise checking the policies of the company you’re working with to see what their terms are regarding websites. I know with Forever Living they allow you to have your own. 

Having your own website is not only a powerful way to differentiate yourself from your competitors, but it also gives people a way to find you!

If you find that you’re not allowed to have your own website directly related to your network marketing business, then you could make one that has a focus on a topic related to your business. 

Building a website is a lot simpler than you think! There are tons of videos on YouTube that teach you how to build using a platform like Squarespace, Wix and WordPress etc. 

If you don’t have time see if you know anyone who builds websites or have a look at Fiverr for a web developer.

2. Build Your Personal Brand 

This ties in with having a website. Having a personal brand makes you look professional, offers you credibility and can help differentiate you as a leader in your business. 

If you are generating leads online you want to make sure you’re not some ghost people are struggling to find any information about. 

People will often buy into you first, as a brand before they look at what you’re selling. 

Having a strong personal brand means you need to establish yourself as an expert in that field.

You can do this by creating content of value that speaks to your target audience — like what I’m doing with this blog article. 

Also, utilise your social media channels with more personal information about yourself and “behind the scenes” of your day-to-day. 

This helps to show people more of who you are, your authenticity and honesty. They’ll be able to witness your journey from the beginning and this will give them confidence that they too can walk a similar path. 

These personal touchpoints help people to trust you which is usually what happens first before they trust your MLM company to make a buying decision or join as your down line.

3. Build An Email List

Email marketing continues to be a powerful tool in not only generating leads but also in communicating with them. 

When looking to build an email list it helps to have a website so you have a platform where you can drive people to. 

One of the best ways I have found to acquire better quality leads is by offering something of value for free to anyone who subscribes to my email list. 

For example, I often create eBooks packed with valuable content that can help my target audience in some way. My ‘How To Work From Home: The Ultimate Guide’ eBook was a great success and I received plenty of quality leads through that offer. 

Make sure the offer you want people to sign up for is going to provide more value than what your blog or social media posts offer. 

Having someone’s email address gives you direct access to communicating with them, and this is where you can really begin to build trust.

4. Develop A Referral Program

This can work well for building a customer base for selling products. Sometimes you may find that you pitch the business opportunity to a person and they decide they want to rather be a customer at this time. 

This is great, get them in as a customer and who knows they may decide to build a business at a later stage. 

What you can do is ask your customers or even people who aren’t initially interested to refer others who they think may really love the products. In them doing so you could offer them a discount on their next purchase. 

Many times people you talk to won’t be interested in buying right away, but they may know people who are.

Customers who are happy with the product and service may want to share your product or business—use this to your benefit. 

Similar to other businesses, people who are referred by others are easier to convert to a sale than people who weren’t because they’re usually coming to you with some interest in buying.

5. Host Informational Webinars

Hosting your own webinar is a powerful way to attract people and build your MLM leads list. 

I host a free 30-minute Zoom presentation every week on a Monday which covers: 

  1. Who the MLM company is, its products and track record. 
  2. The different income opportunities you can explore.
  3. How you can build this business from the comfort of your home with only a laptop and wifi.

This gives people the low down on what you’re offering and you’ll be able to gauge how interested they are. 

It’s also extremely convenient for both parties. People don’t always have time to drive somewhere to meet you for a physical meeting. 

Hosting an online webinar also opens you up to people from all over the world who can attend and learn more about your offer. 

Make sure you receive an email in exchange for booking the webinar. Best way to do this is to have a landing page on your website where people can sign up. 

Webinars are also great for using them as an educational platform or a way to get to know people better by holding a Q&A.

6. Blog

A blog is an incredibly effective marketing tool for a network marketing business as it gives you a way to offer your target audience value without going in for the hard sell. 

A blog can also bring organic leads to your website if optimised correctly for SEO (Search Engine Optimisation). 

Don’t worry if all of this is shooting over your head, it did mine too in the beginning. Do your research and have a look at Neil Patel who is a great resource when it comes to blogging for marketing success.  

A blog simply provides your readers with free tips that connect to your service or products as a solution to any problems they may be facing. 

And this is how they can find you through Google — by searching for ways to alleviate the pain point that your blog will solve for them. 

Having a blog puts the power back in your hands.  

Social Media Expert Chris Brogan says “no matter what, the very first piece of social media real estate I’d start with is a blog.”

One may not see it as social media, but it is and it’s the most important piece of internet real estate you can put into place because it belongs to you entirely. 

Blogging expert Michael Hyatt says it this way: “You wouldn’t build a house on a rented lot, right?”

What both experts are referring to is the fact that your social media accounts: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn…they’re all “rented lots.”

You don’t own them and if you do anything that goes against their Terms of Service you’ll wake up one day to find your accounts have been removed, blocked or completely cleared. 

Your blog is your very own piece of real estate. As long as you don’t use a freebie entity like Blogger, Weebly or Tumblr then you “own” it and will have all the control over it.

7. Use Social Media To Generate Network Marketing Leads Online 

As mentioned above, social media is a “rented lot.” So Don’t put all your eggs in one basket and make sure to diversify.

However, with that said make the most out these powerful platforms while you can. 

Facebook 

Facebook is one of the largest social media platforms around and you have the opportunity to meet an endless supply of people who may be interested in your MLM business. 

If you reach out and connect with 10 new people a day, think about how this can help your business improve. 

Once you connect with people and become Facebook friends, you now have an opportunity to find out what problems they face in their life and then YOU can solve their problem.

AND, by posting about your lifestyle and what you’re up to, these people will get to know you. Many of them will be curious about what you are doing and how you are doing it.

Here are a few powerful ways to use this platform:

  1. Make sure you have a Facebook page so that you can run lead generation ads. This could tie into your free eBook offer as an example.  
  2. Post your blog articles so that you are providing value to your community and linking back to your website. 
  3. Take advantage of Facebook Live to reach even more people. This shows people you’re a real person. It also helps to gain their trust since they can see you, hear you and ask questions. It gives you an opportunity to educate your viewers on something that can help them in their life. This will depend on the interests of your target market.

YouTube is the second largest search engine in the world with over 1 Billion active monthly users

By creating videos that help solve a problem for your audience, you can capture the attention of so many new people. 

YouTube is one of the most effective lead sources because like Google users are searching for answers to their problems. They are looking for guidance and solutions to problems they may have. 

When you create quality content that provides value to your target audience, you will attract the right people to you. 

LinkedIn 

LinkedIn now has over 500 million users globally, making it a popular place to collect new network marketing leads.

Make sure before you begin any networking for your business on LinkedIn that your profile is up to date, that it looks professional with a high quality photo of you and details about your company and what you do. 

Once that’s done, join some LinkedIn groups for network marketers. In these groups, you should always be contributing valuable information, not selling. This is important!

By contributing valuable information to the groups, you’ll notice people start to reach out and express interest in your business. 

As soon as you can, move the conversation to the phone to determine if the individual is the right fit for your business.

Another way to do things on LinkedIn is by searching for contacts who fit your target audience using specific keywords and then connecting with those people. This is a great way to grow your network.

What Not To Do When It Comes To Network Marketing Leads Generation

1. Buy Leads

Buying leads is like a shot in the dark, you can’t be sure about the quality and legitimacy of those leads. 

I feel it’s something that can be a bit risky, so I would suggest doing research on this first before choosing this route.

2. Avoid “Link Barfing” or “Link Spamming”

This is when people spam their referral links all over their social media in the hope that someone will actually click on it, which 99% of the time doesn’t happen. 

I would suggest avoiding doing this at all costs! Especially with Facebook updating their Terms of Service if they feel you are spamming they can block you. 

It also leaves a bad impression on others on how they will perceive you if they feel like you’re forcing them to react through your links. 

People don’t like a hard sell, they much prefer to feel like they are the ones with the buying decision.

3. Spamming Your Social Media 

Spamming social media with your opportunity is NOT lead generation, I repeat it is not lead generation! It’s pitching and selling and the reason it’s so ineffective is that people hate being sold (as I mentioned above). 

People use social media to connect with friends and consume content. They are not there to get pitched and sold on stuff. 

You want to use social media and the internet for generating network marketing leads. Once you get them offline then that’s when you pitch them.

1. ‘Decide’ With All Conviction

Decide that this is the path that you’re going to take and that no fear is going to get in the way of making your dreams come true. 

Decide that you will not give up, no matter how challenging building a business may be. 

When you make this decision, you are making a promise to yourself and by doing so you can keep yourself accountable.

Developing a recruiting mindset is important. You want to be looking for people who are also business builders. 

Sure, you may have some who are just customers, and that’s great, but if you want to scale, you have to find people who also want to build. 

Think of it in the same way as a recruiter who is looking to fill a job position. They are going to look for the most qualified person to fill that position, and this person is going to want that job. 

A recruiter is not going to put a candidate forward if they think this person is sitting on the fence at all. 

It works the same with network marketing!

It’s not about convincing others about why they should think differently.

Or fighting with people who you hope will eventually become interested in growing a business with you.

It’s a process where you show the plan to a few people every day until you get a “yes, I’m in! I want to do this too!”

From here, you can put in the effort to help that person get going into the system and growing with you.

3.    Make Friends

Making friends and building relationships is what this business is about, and it doesn’t mean it’s always done with prospecting in mind. 

I have made some incredible friends through my business. If I had succumbed to my fear of speaking to people, I would not have these people in my life now, and that would be truly dreadful. 

Creating friendships is also a lot easier to do when you just start building. You’re putting yourself out there by making new friends, but without the pressure of prospecting. 

As you interact with them and share what it is you do etc. you will naturally make them like, trust, or get attracted to you.

4. Develop Positive Daily Habits

Start by having a daily morning routine you stick to every day — it’s what sets you up for the day (meditation, exercise, watching something motivational, etc.). 

Then for your business, commit to connecting with at least 1 or 2 people each day in your network. Call them, pop them a message, or comment on their post on social media. Let them know you care and that you’re here.

Another positive habit could be introducing your business opportunity or products to at least one person in your network every day.

Make sure you keep doing self-development, and while you’re putting in the time and effort to build your biz, it’s essential to be building yourself first and foremost.

5. Tell Good Stories

Get good at becoming a storyteller; this is how you can connect to people emotionally as opposed to just regurgitating information. 

This could be stories about your own personal journey or your upline, downline, your company, the products, or your compensation plan.

It’s all about establishing a genuine human connection.

6. Sponsor Your Recruits

When you take your business seriously and build with integrity you will avoid just recruiting for the sake of getting numbers. 

Signing someone up is one thing, but helping them succeed by supporting them and being a leader is where all the value lies. 

You’re not just building a business, you’re building people. 

And as Zig Ziglar says “You can get everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want.”

7. Don’t Force Your Biz on Family and Friends

Don’t be one of those people that accost their family and friends at every opportunity they get to tell them about this “great business opportunity.”

By all means, share with them what it is you’re doing and how exciting it is, but let what you share about your experience attract them to ask questions and pique their interest. 

If they ever say “no,” let it go and don’t chase them. 

Often in MLM businesses, you get told to make a list of 100 people you know, and while that’s not necessarily wrong, it’s important to know that most successful MLMers have very few people from their original list of 100 people in their business. 

Many times what can happen is friends and family who do join your business often times come after seeing your success. 

You’ve got to treat your MLM business like any other and focus on your specific target market of people who will want your product/ services and business opportunity. 

8. Listen And Be a Master at Asking Questions

Listening and asking questions is as important, if not more, than talking and telling your prospect about your business. 

The only way you can find out what their needs and wants are is by asking questions. 

Many people can go in all gung-ho, more focused on talking about the compensation plan, products, and services and how their company is so amazing than asking their prospects the right questions.

By asking questions you will be able to tap into the storyteller in you and connect with them through either your experience or someone else’s you know of (like your upline) and sell with that in mind:

  • What are your goals and dreams in life?
  • Where do you see the life of you/your family in 3-5 years?
  • What are you doing right now to move yourself closer to the life of your dreams?
  • Do you have a plan of how you’re going to get there?
  • How will making an extra income change your life right now?

This will be so much more personal than just any old generic pitch everyone at every single network marketing company is doing.

9. Avoid Putting Too Much Pressure On Each Individual Prospect

There is nothing worse than a person who is super pushy. Don’t be that person that someone will want to get a restraining order against because you don’t know when to quit. 

There is no reason for you to be desperate for people saying “yes,” remember you are looking for people who are also looking for you and what you’re offering — those are the right people. 

You will repel people away and give your MLM company a bad rap if you don’t have any good boundaries with people. “No” is no and then move swiftly on. 

10. Enthusiasm

You are the energy of your biz and how you attract people is through your energy. So it’s essential that you be enthusiastic and joyful about what you’re doing and what you are inviting others to join. 

An energetic, optimistic and positive attitude will attract people to you. These traits are infectious, which means people will naturally feel good around you. That’s what you want every single time you are recruiting. 

When people think of you, you want them to smile. That’s the energy you’ve got to tap into. 

11. Keep your WHY at the forefront

The only way you are going to face your fears (like speaking to people/rejection) and move through the challenges of building a network marketing business is by keeping your WHY at the forefront of your mind. 

Remind yourself every single day why you are doing this.

That you will do anything to achieve your dreams!

This WHY will get you through the hard times and it will keep pushing you until the dam wall finally breaks. 

12. Be A Leader, Not Just A Recruiter

Remember that the journey really begins when someone signs up with you and then it’s up to you to be a guide for that person and help them enter into the process of everything. 

This is leadership.

They are trusting you to show them the way, not just sign them up and forget about them.

13. Address COVID-19

Be honest with people and talk about the state of the economy right now because of Covid-19.

Your prospects are likely feeling stressed and scared about their finances and taking care of their families. 

Speak to their concerns and help them understand that there are ways they can create side incomes, and one of those solutions is working together with you. 

Network marketing is one of the best COVID-19 or recession-proof businesses because we can not only build our businesses from home, but people will always have to buy products, especially if it’s for their health. 

Online marketing makes building your business from home much easier and removes the need to have to host home meetings like back in the day (honouring social distancing rules). 

During a recession, prospects are hyper-sensitive to making more money and this can bring forth success with network marketing.

Use what is happening in the world as a way to really connect with people so that you can genuinely help them and thrive together. 

14. Be Genuine and Ethical

Stay in integrity always.

Don’t try to be someone you’re not and don’t make claims that are untrue, EVER. 

When people behave unethically and are ingenuine this can lead people to believe that this is the ethos of the company when in truth it’s not. 

A legitimate MLM company will always want you to be honest in your dealings with customers and potential recruits. 

When you genuinely believe in a product or what the business can offer someone, that enthusiasm will naturally sell to people.

15. Don’t Take Rejection Personally

This has got to be one of the most difficult parts of business building for anyone that is just starting.

It’s very easy to let rejection make one feel undervalued and question whether “selling” is just not what they’re good at…

I’m here to tell you that you are already “selling” your ideas, recommendations and opinions to those in your own network on a daily basis — and the fact is not everyone is going to be a good fit for your business!

Getting better at building a network marketing business is all about just getting out there, letting go of any attachment you have to the outcome and learning to not take a “no” personally. 

A person’s lack of interest is not a reflection of you or what you’re proposing, it’s got to do with them and where they are currently at.

With enough patience, self-belief and hard work, you will learn to look at rejection as just another “no” closer to someone who will become an amazing recruit!

  • Create a Website – this is great for having a platform to direct people to, so they can get more info and see what you are all about. 
  • Constantly Grow and Develop – the online world is forever changing and innovating. In order to keep up, you will have to continually learn. This can involve keeping up with marketing trends and learning about your consumer base.

13 Tips When Presenting Your Network Marketing Opportunity To People


When it comes to how to be presenting your network marketing opportunity to people there is some skill required. 

It’s easy to be disheartened when you see how charming and persuasive some people can be, but with a bit of intentional skill and authenticity, that too can be you. 

Knowing how to present is an integral part of building your business and so learning how to do it properly can be a game-changer in not only this area, but the rest of your life too.

In this article, I explore some helpful and practical ways you can start presenting like a boss today. 

13 Sales Tips and Tricks To Make Your Presentation Perfect

1. Be Authentic

Learning how to sell is something we think we have to do, but really all that’s required is refining what we already do. 

We are constantly “selling.”

When you share with a friend about a new nail salon you visited or restaurant you ate at, you are inadvertently selling. We do it all the time without even realising it. 

Now when it comes to your business we tend to hit a roadblock and feel uncomfortable about sharing because we’re afraid of coming off “salesy.”

I encourage you to drop this notion and come from a place of complete authenticity because when you can share from here, people will see the potential of your business.

2. Ask Them To Share Their Thoughts 

Verbally bulldozing someone will definitely not encourage a person to join your network marketing business. 

It’s important that while you are sharing the opportunity with them you ask them for their thoughts and not force your views onto them. 

If they come back with some heavy concerns, instead of outright telling them they are wrong or that it’s not like that at all, approach them with: 

“I know you have some well-thought-out opinions on Y. Are you open to discussing them?” or “I completely understand why you may feel that way about X, this has been my experience and what I’ve come to understand…”

3.    Match Their Reasoning

Remember that saying “fight fire with fire,” well turns out it’s actually a very clever technique for persuasion. 

Research shows that when you use the same type of reasoning as the person you’re trying to present to, this is a lot more effective than using a different one.

If the person you are presenting to is being logical, use logic too. If they happen to be making decisions based on their emotions, encourage them with emotional reasoning.

Use this list to help you differentiate between different arguments types. Bring awareness to which words the other person is using.

4. Give Them A Genuine Compliment

Compliments when done genuinely can have such a positive effect on a person. It can immediately turn a stranger into a friend. 

Try complementing the person you are presenting to on something they may not typically be complimented for.

When you can sincerely connect with someone like this they are far more likely to be encouraged by what you are offering.

5. The Counter-Argument

You should always be prepared for any counter-arguments you think the person that you’re presenting to will bring up. 

With this said, I even encourage bringing up counter-arguments for them.

It might sound counterproductive.

However, a meta-analysis of 107 studies with a total of 20,111 participants showed that, across the board, two-sided arguments are more compelling than one-sided ones.

It’s essential to refute the counter-argument after you’ve raised it—otherwise, this approach won’t work so well.

For example, you could tell the person, “I know you may be concerned that this is a pyramid scheme and I too can understand where that concern comes from, but I would love to explain and show you how this company is not one of those.”

6. Speak Directly And With Clarity 

No matter how compelling you might think your presentation is if you are not delivering it in a clear, concise and direct way the whole thing will go downhill from there.

Make sure you are speaking and using language in a way that this person will understand and relate to.

7. Share Both Positives And Negatives

This ties in with the counter-argument tip I discussed above.

Just focusing on the positive aspects of the opportunity you’re presenting will actually be a disservice to you. 

According to University of Illinois professor Daniel O’Keefe, sharing an opposing viewpoint or two is more useful than sticking only to your point of view.

It’s about being real with this person, you were once in their shoes, how did you feel before you joined? 

Don’t beat around the bush, talk to them about things they may be considering or are concerned about. 

When you bring up the negative aspects you can then address them head on and put their mind at ease right then and there before they overthink anything.

8. Make Your Words Powerful

You’ve got to make sure that the presentation itself includes words that will actually elicit a response from the person you’re speaking to. 

This can be easily done by framing your statements around key phrases such as “financial freedom,” “work from home,” “passive income” etc.

9. Dress Up, But Don’t Talk Down

Dress how you want to feel. So if you want to feel confident, wear something that exudes that for you. 

Regardless of whether I’m meeting someone in person or over a video call I dress for success.

How you present yourself can really have an effect on how the other person receives you. 

But remember, there is a clear difference between being confident and being arrogant.

So even though you might feel like the bee’s knees, don’t let that make you think you’re better than someone else. 

10. Focus On The Future

When I present to someone new I like to speak in the future tense.

This establishes confidence in the relationship and it tells the person you are here to move forward with them. 

This can be done by using the word “will.”

Phrases like “We will” and “Then we’ll do this” will get the person used to the idea that this is going to happen.

With that said, don’t overdo it and come across pushy.

You don’t want to be making decisions for the other person, instead, you want to get them excited about all the possibilities the business can offer. 

11. Avoid Verbal Fillers

Everytime you use typical “millennial or Gen Z speak” and interrupt your speech with—”like”, “um”, “uh”—you immediately lose credibility with the person you’re pitching to. Regardless of how important what you have to say is, it won’t matter. 

You want your speech to flow naturally, so if you have to, practise what you want to say before you meet the person. 

12. Be A Master Of Timing

Timing can completely make or break your presentation.

If you catch someone at a rubbish time they are not going to be interested in anything you have to say, even if it’s something they would likely want to do. 

So get some understanding of who you’re going to be speaking with. If they’re a mom, mornings might be best when the kids have gone to school as opposed to evenings when they’re completely knackered.

13. Build To Your Emotions

Excitement and enthusiasm are good, but let these emotional responses build naturally within the conversation as opposed to being like this from the get-go. 

You don’t want to overwhelm the person with too much emotion that they are unable to relate to yet. 

As I mentioned earlier, be authentic in how you present the information.

If excitement is what you feel this person needs then start sprinkling some of that emotion in from the start. 

Otherwise a good rule of thumb is to start a conversation on a relaxed, yet upbeat note. Then as you start talking, you can gradually grow more passionate and excited about what you’re sharing with them.

How To Build Rapport for Presentation Success

Building rapport is such a powerful way to connect and gain trust with people, hence why I’m expanding further on this below. 

You are naturally more drawn to a person when they are like you.

This reaches beyond our conscious decisions to our unconscious behaviours.  

When we mirror and match others habitual behaviours (body language, cadence, language patterns, etc.) you are able to build a sense of rapport where people feel more at ease with you and become more open to what you’re offering.

Make sure you’re not being overly obvious with this so they don’t feel you are mimicking them.

1. ‘Match’ your body language to the person you’re speaking to.

So if they cross their right leg, then you cross your right leg too, if they put their left hand on their hip, you do the same. 

 2. ‘Mirror’ your body language.

This is similar to ‘matching,’ in that you are simply ‘mirroring’ body language.

So if the person you’re speaking with makes a hand gesture with their right hand, when you start to speak you would make a similar hand gesture with the opposite hand (so it’s like you are mirroring them).

Subtlety is key here!

3. Adjust the volume of your voice to suit the person you are speaking with.

This may seem obvious, but often it’s not.

You might be someone who is very boisterous and speaks loudly, that’s not going to work well with someone who is quiet and soft spoken. 

So if their voice is much softer than yours then it will pay off to not shout at them.

Same goes for if they have a loud voice— adjust your voice accordingly so it matches their style of speaking. 

4. Adjust the speed of your voice so it’s in time with your conversation.

As you would adjust the volume of your voice, you should do the same for speed. 

If the person you are presenting your network marketing opportunity to speaks a lot slower than you, talking very fast over them is not going to get you any brownie points. 

This will likely break rapport and result in them feeling annoyed, so make sure you match the ‘pace’ of the person you are speaking with. 

5. Notice what’s important to the person you are engaging with.

The key here is to listen attentively, take note of any words or topics that keep coming up. This will indicate what’s significant to them. 

When you repeat the same words or focus on the same topics, they will feel like you are really listening and understanding them. 

An example: if this person keeps mentioning time with family and how spending time with her children is a priority, then you will tell them how you understand how important family time is and explain how this business can afford them that.

Before the Covid-19 pandemic, the need to improve your productivity working from home probably didn’t give you any sleepless nights.

But, as almost all things have been turned on their head, working from home suddenly became the new reality for most of us.  

I think it’s safe to say that we weren’t prepared for such a big change!

In this article I will discuss why productivity is important and give the top tips on how to be more productive when working from home.

Whether you’re an experienced home worker or a shellshocked newbie, this valuable advice will change the game and make adjusting to the ‘new normal’ feel much easier.

Why Working Productively is So Important

Productivity skills are incredibly valuable not because it means you can churn out work at a rapid pace, but because it means you are using your time effectively.

As Benjamin Franklin simply put it, “lost time is never found again.”

If you’re seeking advice on productivity improvement so that you can run faster and for longer on the hamster wheel of endless work deadlines, then I’m afraid to say that you’re missing the point.

Productivity is a means to an end to ensure that you work effectively and still have time for the things which give your life joy and fulfilment.

How to increase productivity working from home

Even if you love your job, it is still important to prioritize productivity.

You will then have time and can give your undivided attention to other, equally important things in your life, such as your family, friends and hobbies.

Now that you are working from home and the normal hours of 9 to 5 are out the window, working productively is more important than ever before.

There are tempting distractions which you don’t find in the office, such as a big pile of laundry, cuddly pets, Netflix and a fridge full of tasty food.

Not to mention our most beloved distraction of all; kids.

On the flipside, without the office hours in place, homeworkers usually work much longer hours than those working in an office.

The trick is to find the right balance.

9 Tips to Increase Your Productivity Working from Home

1. A Morning Routine is Essential

Having a head start to the day has never been more important.

If you wake up just half an hour earlier than usual, you will start the day on your own terms.

Use this time for some self-care before your day begins and your attention goes to work, house chores and family.

It can be as simple as having a cup of tea and enjoying the peace and quiet of the early morning.

It’s also crucial that you get dressed and ready for the day as you would on a normal day.

You don’t have to wear a suit, but make sure you’re in something a little more formal than your favourite pyjamas.

This will get your mind in the right place so that it can tackle the day and anything that comes your way.

2.    Find a Dedicated Workspace

As tempting as it may be to work in bed, on the couch or on the kitchen counter, you’ll be far more productive when you have a spot in your home which is entirely dedicated to work.

If you do not have a home office or a spare room, then find a spot in a corner where you are out of the way of passing traffic and less likely to be disturbed.

Ideally, you want to be able to close a door and stay out of sight from the rest of the home.

There are two reasons for having a specific workspace. 

The first is that having a dedicated work space signals to the brain that it’s time to focus as soon as you enter that space.

The same way your brain prepares to get into work mode when you walk through the door of the office building.

The second reason is so that when work time is up, you can leave that area and take your mind off work – out of sight, out of mind.

 The gift and curse of home-working is that whilst you can work whenever you please — sometimes we don’t know when to stop.

3. Create a Daily Family Schedule

Having a schedule is the best way to create structure in your day.

Especially if you have young kids; organisation is key.

Include meal times, activities, homework, nap time, exercise, movies – everything!

I recommend creating the schedule the night before so that the kids know what is planned for the day when they wake up.

On that note, it’s also best practice to make sure that everything is prepared the night before, such as printouts for homework or crafts for activities.

The next step is to create your own work schedule based on the family schedule.  

You will need to figure out when you must be with the kids and when you can leave them to get on by themselves.

The final step is to inform your boss and colleagues of your work hours so that they are aware of your availability.

Remember to be realistic and accept that things may not always go according to plan.

Flexibility and patience are your friends!   

4. Make a Practical To-Do List

This might seem obvious, but the truth is that most of us struggle to make concise lists which prioritize what’s actually important.

Instead, we tend to create a long list of all the things we need and want to do and thereby add to our own stress.

Again, the trick is to be realistic.

Be as ruthless as possible when making your to-do list and only focus on what is essential.

Remembering that you need to be flexible, it’s a good idea to write out weekly goals as opposed to daily ones.

This way you’re less likely to beat yourself up if you don’t get to all the work you had hoped to in one day.

5. Nap Time is Go Time!

Now that you have worked out a personal schedule and have an air-tight to-do list, you can match the intensity of your work to the likelihood of being disturbed by the family.

So, if your kids are at the age when they take naps, use this time to work on the items which require your full focus.

Or, if they’re a bit older, then put on an absorbing movie that will give you an hour and a half of uninterrupted time to be super productive.

Waking up earlier to get in a couple of hours before getting the kids sorted with breakfast and starting their day is also a top tip.

Similarly, get in another couple of hours once they have gone to bed in the evening.

Use these times as power hours to get through the more demanding work.

And then you can spend time with your kids during the day and attend to work, such as emails, where it’s okay to be interrupted.  

It is also good to give your kids your undivided attention for periods of time throughout the day.

This is great because you get to spend proper time with them, but it will also mean that you are less likely to be interrupted during your allocated work times.

6. Work in Short, Concentrated Bursts

Whether you have kids or not, this is the ultimate way to increase productivity working from home.

 I advise using the Pomodoro Technique, where you focus on a task for 25 minutes, then take a five-minute break.

After 4 of these sessions, you take a 15 – 20-minute break. 

The idea is to be completely focused on one task for a reasonably short amount of time.

This feels far more achievable and is also a fantastic way of preventing you from trying to multitask (which, combined with over-using Social Media, is a productivity thief — except if you’re in network marketing, as that is where all the engagement happens!)

And if you really want to see productivity growth, then start with the tasks you dread the most first. 

Known as the Eat the Frog technique, getting the hardest thing done before moving on to anything else sets you up to win for the rest of the day and gets you one step closer to achieving your goals.

7. Get the Kids Involved

If your kids are a little bit older, then take the time to share your schedule with them and explain which times are busy for you and which times they can spend with you.

Of course, you can offer incentives for allowing you some uninterrupted time and provide them with some exciting activities that you don’t need to oversee.  

Here are some wonderful activity suggestions for all ages, including free online sources.

You can also allow them to work next to you when you’re attending to the tasks which can be interrupted.

It’s important to remember that your kids may be more independent than you realize.

At school they are given work to do on their own and generally don’t have the teacher right next to them all day.

While they may be very excited to be spending this extra time with you, it’s also okay to encourage them to do things without your input.

8. Call in the Troops

If you have a partner, then it goes without saying that you should take it in turns to prepare meals and oversee activities with the kids.

If this is not an option, then ask your friends and family if they can have a 20-minute Zoom session where they can read or do any kind of activity to keep the kids occupied.

Not only is this a fantastic way of keeping in touch with our loved ones during times of social distancing, but it’s also a great strategy if any work emergency comes up.

If an emergency phone call comes through or you need to participate in a meeting which cannot be scheduled for another time, you know you have someone you can rely on.

Don’t forget to lock the door and to mute your mic when you’re not speaking!

9. Get Plenty of Fresh Air

While this is a great way to prevent cabin fever from kicking in, it’s also fantastic for improving productivity working from home in general. 

Taking breaks is a vital part of working effectively and exercise is the ideal way to clear your head.

Best case scenario is to go for a walk in the morning and again in the afternoon.

This will keep you energised and ensure that your mind is refreshed.

It’s important to exfoliate the skin in order to remove dead cells and clear the pores of any dirt. 

Aloe vera works really well as a cleansing agent enriched with antibacterial properties that flush out impurities gently.

Because it’s completely natural it’s gentle to use on the skin (perfect for sensitive skin). Just put a dollop of aloe vera on a cotton pad and wipe off the makeup from your skin.

There is nothing quite like a weekend night-in that involves a big glass of wine and pampering yourself with a face mask and hot bath. 

An aloe vera face mask is one of the best ways you can treat your skin with some deep moisture loving.

Goal Setting How To: A Guide For Mums Who Want Massive Success


In this goal setting how to guide I share with you why creating sustainable goals will be the key to your inevitable success!

Before I started my business in Forever I was aware of setting goals, but did I always stick to them? No.

Did I have the right goals in mind? Sometimes, but not always. 

It’s definitely been a journey learning how to formulate achievable goals that I can take aligned action on.

That’s why I felt I had to write an article on this topic in the hope that it can help you on your path to setting successful goals!

What’s Goal Setting?

I’m sure you’re familiar with having new years resolutions, which most often than not become a list of things we want, but with no clear action steps to get there.

This is not always a true reflection of setting goals. 

For some people sticking to goals can be challenging because they don’t differentiate their goals from more informal, everyday self-improvement endeavours. 

Just because you decide to start going to the gym every day doesn’t necessarily make that a conscious goal.

So let’s explore what goal setting means.

Genuine goal setting is identifying something you want to accomplish and denoting measurable objectives and timeframes to help you achieve it.

It’s important to remember that goals are unique to every individual and they can look different depending on someone’s lifestyle, values and definition of success. 

What a friend is striving for may not be congruent with what you want to achieve and that’s totally okay.

We’re all walking our own paths.

Why Goal Setting is Important

It’s easy to dream about what you want, but if you don’t have a clear idea of what your heart truly desires to achieve, then how would you know what to focus on in life.

We would just aimlessly float along...

Goal setting is such an essential cog in the wheel to life in that it helps you decide and focus on what’s really important to you.

It gets you clear on your future and then gives you steps to creating it. 

When you are able to effectively set goals you can then measure your progress and visualise your dreams.

When you have the big picture in mind you’re able to overcome procrastination because you know what you’re working hard towards.  

Setting goals will also keep you fully accountable to yourself and others.

Whether you’re setting goals for work or in your personal life, sharing your goals with others makes you more likely to determine the patterns that will achieve them.

Setting goals can help you grow and expand in so many different ways, it pushes you to transform and strive for what you want in life.

They serve as an anchor and guide that you can constantly refer back to, ensuring you are moving in the right direction.

True fulfilment comes from feeling that you have a purpose, goals give us that purpose.

Tony Robbins says, “Progress equals happiness,” and setting goals is what gets us there.

Tips for Goal Setting Success

1. Visualise Your Ideal Future and Lifetime Goals

Taking action towards your goals means nothing if you don’t have a clear picture of what you’re working towards. 

It’s one thing to say you want financial freedom or to be able to spend more time with your family, but is this at the forefront of your mind driving the action you take every day? 

The first step in goal setting how to is visualising your dreams and life goals.

What does your ideal future look like in both life and business? 

Here are some general categories below from Mindtools that can give you an idea of important areas in your life you can set goals for (or use them in conjunction with areas of your own that are important to you):

  • Career – Are you happy with the career you are in? Is it fulfilling you? Are you wanting to reach a new level in your career?
  • Financial – Are you satisfied with your current income? What is your dream salary? Does this relate to your career goals?
  • Education – What are you interested in learning? Do you want to upskill? 
  • Family – What dreams do you have for your family? Do you want frequent holidays and time spent together?
  • Artistic – Do you have any artistic goals you want to achieve? Like starting dance or painting?
  • Attitude – Is any part of your mindset holding you back? Is there any part of the way that you behave that upsets you? (If so, set a goal to improve your behaviour or find a solution to the problem.)
  • Pleasure – What makes you feel good? How can you have fun and enjoy life? 
  • Public Service – Do you want to help humanity and make the world a better place? What can you do to be of service?

Once you are clear on the big dreams and goals you want to achieve visualise it in as much detail as possible.

By doing this you enable yourself to get a true perspective of what this future looks like. 

Get as specific as you want. Feel into what it would feel like if this was already your reality. 

Then ask yourself what do you have to do in order to make this vision a reality. 

As you move through this process make sure the life goals you want are really yours that you want to achieve and not ones that are pressured from the outside.

2. Set SMART Goals

A powerful way to hone in on your goals is by using the SMART mnemonic. There are many variations as to what SMART stands for, but the most common one I’ve seen is: 

S – Specific (or Significant).

M – Measurable (or Meaningful).

A – Attainable (or Action-Oriented).

R – Relevant (or Rewarding).

T – Time-bound (or Trackable).

Once you’re clear on your big life goals, you can create smaller goals in the form of action steps you need to take with the big picture in mind. 

Using SMART goals can work really well here.

Say one of your big goals is to lose weight and feel healthier. As this is quite broad you can use SMART goals to get really specific. 

A very generic example would be:

I want to lose 10kg by the 4 of November 2020, by exercising every day and watching my calorie intake. I’ll track my progress by weighing myself at the end of every week.

3. Write Down Your Goals 

Writing your goals down really cements them into reality and they become more real instead of just some vague thought that only lives in the mind.  

Write them down in your journal and then also put them somewhere visible so you can see them every day. 

I often like to use Canva and create my own iPhone screensavers with my goals so that every time I look at my phone I’m reminded of what I’m working towards. 

Putting them on sticky notes and placing them on the bathroom mirror also works nicely.

4. Make an Action Plan

A goal means nothing without taking action steps to get there. 

Deciding on a goal is much easier than determining the action plan you will have to implement in order to meet that goal. 

So it’s incredibly important to create an action plan with clear steps you are going to take. This can be seen as breaking your bigger goals down into smaller short-term goals. 

If you want to make more money, what steps do you have to take to make that possible? Maybe it’s researching job opportunities, or getting on a call with someone like me to discuss a network marketing opportunity

What will also help you is making sure these steps are on a timeline so you have clear dates for when you want to get something done by. 

This creates a sense of urgency, which in turn motivates you to stay on schedule and complete your shorter-term goal.

5. Hold Yourself Accountable When Setting Your Goals

This is essential because if you’re not accountable then it’s easy for things to fall by the wayside. 

Keep yourself accountable by sharing your goals with your partner, family or friends, or work with a coach who will be able to hold you to that higher standard. 

This will also keep you motivated and give you the incentive to make things happen. 

6. Re-evaluate and Assess Your Progress

Take time once a month to see how much progress you’ve made or where new direction may be required. 

Also, make sure to celebrate the achievements that were made during the month. 

The journey to achieving your goal is as meaningful as having actually achieved the goal.

7. Stay Consistent

Consistency is key!

Find ways to keep yourself inspired and motivated and enjoy the experience of working towards something significant.

When you finally reach it, it will all feel so worth it!

Further Tips for Goal Setting

  • State each goal as a positive statement – expressing them positively – “I am going to look after my body by eating well” is a much better goal than “You’re so fat, stop eating so much.”
  • Be detailed – ties in with SMART goals, assign dates, times and amounts so that you can measure your progress and achievement. 
  • Prioritise your goals – This will help you feel less overwhelmed by having too many goals. It will also give you a better indication of where you can direct your attention to the most pertinent ones.

  • Keep short-term goals small – you want these to be small and achievable. If a goal is too large and you have no way of realistically achieving it within the desired timeframe, then it can seem that no progress is being made at all. 
  • Set performance goals, not outcome goals – Set goals that you will be able to have as much control as possible over. It’s incredibly discouraging to not reach a personal goal for reasons beyond your control!
  • Set realistic goals – It’s all good and well to dream big but you have to actually believe it’s something you can achieve. Otherwise, you will leave yourself feeling disheartened and demotivated.

How to Cultivate an Attitude of Gratitude: For Mums Who Want To Feel Good


Learning how to cultivate an attitude of gratitude is essential to living a more joyful and abundant life! 

One lesson that has always stuck with me is — how can you ever receive more if you don’t appreciate what you have now?

Our world moves at a pace faster than ever before. We are constantly striving, moving, doing and going.

We often forget to take stock of what’s truly important!

We complain about having too little and then when we do, it’s not enough.

As a mum, it’s easy to lose track when you are juggling a million different balls. 

Consciously practicing gratitude will enable you to appreciate everything in your life at this very moment. 

In this article, I look at what gratitude is, the benefits thereof and 11 ways you can practice it within your day. 

What is Gratitude?

Being grateful is about feeling the emotion of appreciation for what you have in your life. It’s about recognising the value of what surrounds you, separate to monetary worth. 

When you can learn to focus on the things that make you feel alive, fulfilled and happy, you will naturally feel more positive. 

As Robert Emmons, the world’s leading scientific expert on gratitude, explains: 

“We can appreciate positive traits in ourselves, but I think true gratitude involves a humble dependence on others: We acknowledge that other people — or even higher powers, if you’re of a spiritual mindset — gave us many gifts, big and small, to help us achieve the goodness in our lives.”

To have gratitude means noticing the beauty in the seemingly small things that surround you in the mundanity of life.

Or appreciating what you do have even when it seems like there’s nothing to appreciate because there always is. 

It has the power to eradicate negative emotions and magnify the positive ones.

Gratitude can move us from the mindset of lack, limitation and fear, into expansion, happiness and love.

What are the Benefits of Gratitude?

The benefits of gratitude are endless, and once you understand just how great the effect of it can have on your wellbeing, you will want to practice it every day. 

In many scientific studies, including research by Robert Emmons, they found that people who practice gratitude consciously and consistently, experience a much greater state of physical health and emotional well-being than those who don’t.

These benefits include

  • Improves physical health – studies have shown gratitude to strengthen the immune system, reduce symptoms of illness, help lower blood pressure and be less troubled by aches and pains. It will encourage you to exercise more and look after your health. It also helps you to sleep better and longer, and feel more refreshed upon waking. 
  • Improves psychological health and well-being – having a gratitude practice immediately creates higher levels of positive emotions such as feelings of optimism, joy, pleasure, inspiration, hope, love etc. It’s also seen to increase happiness and fulfilment in life and reduce anxiety and depression.
  • Gratitude strengthens social connections – it makes your relationship with others stronger. It brings you closer and makes you feel more connected to your loved ones. It helps you to feel less lonely and isolated, which in turn makes you more outgoing. You become more forgiving and compassionate, and it will make you want to give and help more, whether it’s a neighbour or a charity. 

11 of My Favourite Gratitude Exercises and Activities

Create a habit out of being grateful by taking up a consistent daily practice. Choose one or more that you like and do it every day! 

These exercises and activities are also great to do on your own or with your kids. Encouraging your kids to have some sort of gratitude practice is powerful for their development and it’s a great way to spend time together.

1. Gratitude Journal

Keeping a gratitude journal is one of the most powerful tools at your disposal, and will immediately bring more joy into your life. 

Choose a time in the day, either the morning or in the evening before you sleep, to write down 3-10 things you are grateful for. 

At first, it may seem difficult, but as you do it more, this list will begin to naturally flow out of you. By doing this we learn to find joy in the everyday experience, and not take anything for granted. 

You don’t have to write down big momentous events — like getting a job or moving — it can be as simple as going for a walk with a loved one, or cuddles with your child in the morning. 

Before you write out your gratitude list, take a moment to observe how you feel, and then take note of what you feel afterwards, consciously relishing in those positive feelings.

2. Gratitude Jar

This is as simple as it sounds and a great exercise to do with the kids. 

All you need is a jar and you could get the kids to decorate it in any way they like. 

During the day think of at least three things that you are grateful for. It can be something as simple as watching a movie with your kids, or as grand as the love you have for them. Write down what you are grateful for on little slips of paper and fill the jar—do this every day. 

Over time, your jar will fill up and you will realise that you have plenty of reasons to be thankful for what you have. 

The jar is also great for when you may be feeling down,  take a look at a few notes to remind yourself of what’s good in your life.

3. Gratitude Object

The objective here is to find an object that you can use as a symbol of gratitude, so that every time you see it, it can remind you to be grateful. 

This could be a little stone, shell or rock, or maybe even a piece of jewellery. You must be able to keep it with you during your day.  

This can also serve as a mini-mindfulness moment in your day, anchoring you into the present moment. 

4. Gratitude Tree

This is such a fun activity to do with the kids and it’s great for adults who want to connect to their inner child and sense of playfulness.

5. Gratitude Letter

This is such a powerful way to show appreciation to someone who has impacted your life in some way.  

We’re quite au fait with thanking someone verbally, but there’s a certain magic when you write out your gratefulness. 

It has the ability to help not only you feel it in a much deeper way, but also the person you are giving it to.

6. Gratitude Affirmations

Affirmations are powerful in how they can make you feel differently about something and when this happens you start to think and believe in new, constructive ways.

This then leads to different actions and thus more positive experiences that occur naturally in your life. 

Affirmations can bring us closer to what we want to feel, even if we don’t yet fully believe it to be true. 

When you repeat an affirmation over and over it has the ability to reprogram your subconscious, therefore cultivating a new “truth”.  

You can create your own gratitude affirmations, or look up ones that resonate with you.

Write them down on sticky notes, or anywhere around the house (I keep mine on the fridge and my bathroom mirror) where you will constantly see them and be reminded. 

Here are a few to get you started: 

  1. I am learning to be grateful for what I have while being excited for what has yet to come.
  1. I am grateful now, and that is keeping the door open for more abundance.
  1. My thanksgiving is eternal; it survives every obstacle because I am willing to keep it alive.
  1. I fully accept the joy that wants to rise in my life, and I accept it now in gratitude.

7. Smile Meditation

The very simple act of smiling has the power to instantly shift your mood make you feel happier and more grateful. 

Studies have shown that smiling can actually shift the way you feel, regardless of why you’re smiling.

Smiling sends a message to your brain, which triggers and releases feel-good endorphins throughout your body. 

Smile anytime during the day for that feel-good boost or take some time to sit in silence and just smile observing how doing this makes you feel. 

8. Gratitude Meditation 

Gratitude meditations are a double-whammy for your well-being. You are performing two of the most impactful happiness practices at the same time.

A gratitude meditation is different from your more common meditations in that you are not just focusing on your breath with the intention of creating space between the thoughts.

Rather, you are visualizing all the things in your life that you are grateful for.

Make sure you give each person or item the focus it deserves. Take time to go through all the people, places, experiences or things you are grateful for. 

You can also simplify things by focusing on things that are often taken for granted: the ability to breathe, hands to touch, eyes to see, legs to walk and run, etc.

9. Give Back

Giving back to those less fortunate is one of the biggest ways you can cultivate more gratitude in your life. 

I’ve found that doing this shines a light on things I may take for granted and it really shows me how blessed my life is. 

I suggest finding a community project you’re passionate about, spend time at a charity or NGO, or maybe even go to the beach and pick up rubbish/feed the homeless. 

Find something that really calls you and notice how when you help with your highest intention you will naturally feel good about yourself and your life.

10. Collage

This is another great activity to do with the kids or on your own. It’s similar to the gratitude journal except you can either take pictures of things you are grateful for over a period of time or go through previous pictures. 

This provides you with a great opportunity to really visualise your gratitude. Try taking a picture of one thing you are grateful for every day for a week. Observe how you feel. Take a look back at the pictures every week. 

These don’t have to be big grand things to be grateful for. It could be the trees you saw on a walk or the lunch you had with a friend.

After about a month of doing this, put all your pictures together in a gratitude collage. This is something that you can look at every day and be reminded of how many blessings you have in your life.

11. Steph Pennock’s White Bean Exercise for Appreciation

The following gratitude exercise was invented by Seph Fontane Pennock. For this exercise you’re going to need:

  • A can of white beans
  • A can opener
  • A spoon

Most of us are able to buy a can of white beans without blinking an eye, never mind the rest of the food we are fortunate enough to eat on a daily basis. 

This exercise is about inviting yourself to have a can of beans as a meal for dinner. Literally nothing else that night, only the beans. 

No warming them up, mixing in other ingredients or serving them in a nice bowl. If you do this, it beats the whole purpose of the exercise. 

All you do is open the can, grab a spoon, gives thanks for what you’re about to eat and dig right in. 

The purpose of doing this gratitude exercise is to help us realise and appreciate how much we actually have, especially when it comes to food. 

We are able to eat whatever we want when we want it and it’s easy to take this for granted. So sometimes having that gentle reminder can be a good way to humble ourselves. 

Observe your thoughts while eating the beans. Do you find yourself wishing for something else or can you be satisfied with the food you have to eat in this moment?

Give this a go once a week or once a month if you can. 

The benefits of doing this can: 

  • Make you a more mindful eater
  • Appreciate all the things you get to eat on a daily basis 
  • Shows you how little we require in order to satisfy our basic human needs
  • Allows you to enjoy the ritual and experience of positive emotions while eating the beans

Gratitude has the power to brighten your day and the magic to create more good things. 

Being consistent with practising gratitude may take some time, but once it becomes a habit, you won’t want to stop reaping the benefits.

Whichever bucket you fall into, you understand that being organised in any business you’re a part of is highly important. Hence, why you’re likely reading this for that very reason. 

It can be so easy to get overwhelmed and feel like you don’t know where to start because there’s just so much to do. This often leads to procrastination and then nothing gets done at all. 

If you are trying to keep track of names, products, appointments, team members, numbers, follow-ups etc. without a proper process you can’t be surprised when your business makes no progress. 

It’s so easy to forget things or fall so far behind that you don’t know your left from your right, leaving you utterly defeated.

When it comes to being a “solopreneur” and running your own business it’s important to make things as easy and efficient as possible. 

There is no time for multiple calendars and stuff in a multitude of places scattered all over. Being able to access everything you need in a centralised place will make the world of difference to your efficiency and mindset. 

Anyone who is successful in their network marketing biz will tell you that a large part of that is due to the prep work they put in. 

Planning allows you to completely focus on the task at hand so you don’t spend time worrying about things that might be missing or anything else that should get done. 

And for these reasons a network marketing planner is a useful tool there to help you plan ahead. 

It needs to fit your business and work for you, so it’s not always as simple as finding that perfect app that can do everything. 

Some may feel that they need a very specific planner or a planning software that’s dedicated to their industry. This may seem easier but it’s not super necessary. 

Entrepreneurship principles are relevant across all industries and there are so many helpful books out there that can aid you with this.

Time management and planning are perfect examples of this, because they can be applied pretty much anywhere. 

I feel there is so much worth in the small investment of time to figure out what you want to track and then from there create your own network marketing planning system. Making it 100% customised to you. 

This is also something your upline or business mentor (like me) can help you with because we know what’s necessary for your business.

We’ve been through the process and can save you a lot of time and energy so you don’t make the same mistakes as us.

* Each MLM company has their own system and way of doing things. What I am recommending is based on online tools that I’ve used before/are using — especially in light of the world we’re living in at the moment — but I use a very specific system that has helped me and my team to #1 in the UK.

What Should Be Included in your Network Marketing Planner 2020

A Scheduling / Calendar Section

The best way to do this is digitally as opposed to old school in a diary planner. You can always write it out daily in your diary if that helps you. 

Using a tool like Calendly or Acuity Scheduling is perfect for setting up any meetings and if you’re doing any online they integrate with platforms like Zoom. 

It integrates into your calendar so when you send someone the Calendly/ Acuity link they can see all the available dates and times you’ve provided and then whichever they select gets saved into your calendar.  

This is brilliant for staying on top of any meetings or appointments you may have. You will know exactly who you are speaking to and when. 

Make use of your calendar, be it iCal for Apple or Google Calendars. Get used to this being something you check REGULARLY. 

A Follow-Up Section

This can work with your calendar so you are always on top of a follow up. Make sure to clearly distinguish this task from the rest so you know what it is amongst all the other tasks sitting in your calendar. 

Colour coordinating your various tasks can help you know exactly what is what. 

A Prospect List Section

This is important for keeping track of everyone you’re looking to prospect or show your business opportunity to

You could do this on an excel sheet or if you want to keep with the modern times you could do this by using an online platform such as Hubspot — customer relationship management software. 

The basic package is free to use with paid options for any of the more advanced features. This is what me and my team uses and I can’t begin to explain how much it’s helped streamline my business.

They offer plenty of free resources and videos to help you get started so I would highly recommend learning more about it.   

A Goal Section

This is where you can put your business plan, and all of your goals. Goals can be broken down by short term – daily, weekly and long term – monthly, yearly. 

Put your list of goals somewhere you know you will see it every day. Short-term goals could go in a physical planner or tracking app, while long-term goals could be put on the wall or on your bathroom mirror. 

A Notes Section

This is more of a generic section where you can put in checklists or anything like that which just doesn’t have a category.

If you are doing a lot of travelling with your business which for most at this point is not happening due to COVID-19, then usually it would be important to keep a logbook to track your gas and mileage for tax rebate purposes.

If your biz involves more direct sales and is heavily focused on products then you’ll need to keep track of your inventory and your customer base etc. 

In this case you may benefit from using an industry based Direct Sales Planner.

At the end of the day it’s not really about what planner you’re using, but rather whether you’re actually using it. 

Having a network marketing planner or tool is not going to magically transform your business. It’s about the effort you put into actually using it to help you streamline your processes. 

You want to be using something that you actually enjoy and find useful, otherwise you’ll just be wasting your time. 

If you are someone who is hyper organised and structured then you will want to use something that’s already categorised for you.

However, if you prefer to rather not be so constricted then you may find it better to use an empty notebook or a basic app.

Physical Planners VS Digital Tools

I like the combo of using a physical planner as well as a digital tool. I enjoy writing things down and this helps for my daily planning, while everything else can be planned and tracked digitally. 

When it comes to physical planners, you are spoilt for choice as there are so many to choose from both instore and online. 

There’s plain generic planners, there’s more inspirational versions with colors and graphics on them, there’s generic general entrepreneurial-based versions, and there’s specific network marketing and direct sales versions.

On the digital side of things, there are so many useful apps and programs that can help with planning. Hubspot is already one that I mentioned earlier and then you have powerful general planning software, like Todoist and Trello

Take a look at reviews when deciding on which apps to use, this will help you narrow it down to which one may work best for you.

1. Write Everything Down

This is so important. We are more likely to remember things when we write it out, so make sure to do this throughout your day. 

Often we can think of something and it’s really important and then we think we won’t forget it because it’s so important, so we don’t write it down and then what happens?

We get busy and completely forget.

Sometimes this can happen to these ideas. 

Anything that comes into your mind, write it down and categorize it.

Another very helpful way to stay on top of things is to allocate 15 minutes to pre-planning your day the night before or plan your week the Sunday before.

2. Take Notes in Your Calendar 

It’s incredibly useful to be able to make extra notes on your tasks if needed in your calendar. Maybe you want to remind yourself to take something with you to a meeting or event etc. 

3. Create Daily and Monthly Goals

The whole point of planning out daily tasks is so that they can be reached. So be reasonable with what goals you set for yourself each day. 

You want your daily goals to be the action steps you take to reaching your monthly goals, so it’s important to give this some proper thought. 

At the end of the month, look forward to what you want to do in the next month and write it in the planner.

Writing your goals down is a powerful step in the manifestation process and for calling in your desires into fruition, so don’t neglect this. 

4. Use Your Planner for Financials

Allocate time for paying bills or doing tax. Often this kind of stuff can sneak up on us, so empower yourself by being organised. 

Maybe you have an upcoming payment you will have to make, this is where you put it in your planner so eventually you can action it.

5. Prioritise Your Work

What I mean by this is categorizing your work tasks by those that are income producing activities vs. those that are not. 

You want to be focusing on tasks that are actually going to move the needle on your business. This is something you can also discuss with your upline or mentor.  

6. Schedule Personal Time

I cannot stress this one enough. Your business is not going to mean anything if you’re burnt out or depressed. 

By taking care of yourself you are taking care of your business. Nothing will have value without your health and well-being. 

Allocate time in your calendar so you can focus on self-care, this could include taking a midday nap, exercise, lunch with yourself or a friend, or quality time with family.

7. Have a Section for Motivation and Inspiration

There are days where motivation and inspiration may be lacking, so a great way to immediately uplift yourself is by having a section for your fave quotes. 

Instead of wasting time having to go and look for inspiration, having it in one place is really useful. 

Choose images and quotes that really fire you up so when you flip to that section you can get the motivation you need right then and there!

“How to build confidence?” is a question many people looking to grow a network marketing business ask me when they’re just starting out.

I really do know what it’s like to not feel confident enough to be able to go out there and recruit or prospect new people to join your business or sell your product to.  

Lack of self-confidence can be detrimental to your business and success.

I am passionate about helping women create their dream lives and that’s why I felt it would be so beneficial to write about this topic. 

In this article, I will explore confidence-building tips and exercises I’ve used, as well as my favourite books on building self-confidence — so you can take the network marketing world by storm!

What is Self-Confidence?

This version of myself didn’t just bloom overnight, it took work and many times you just have to “fake it until you make it”. When you do something enough you start to fully embody it. It takes consistent practice of putting yourself out there. 

Self-confidence can be so different for everyone and it’s largely based on your own personal experiences of life—how you’ve been brought up, what you’ve been taught, the influence people had on what you believed to be true about yourself etc. 

All of this conditioning can affect what we believe about ourselves and other people. So we often have to unlearn a lot of this in order to embrace the confidence that’s already within.

1. Use Confident Body Language 

Your body language can convey so much before you even open your mouth. Think of someone whose confidence you admire.

How do they carry themselves?

You wouldn’t see them slouched or with their arms crossed. 

Learn to command a room with just your body language by standing tall, with your chest open. Shake someone’s hand firmly. Own the space you occupy.

Physiology really is everything when learning to be confident. 

2. Embrace a Growth Mindset

Confidence is not something you find outside of yourself and it doesn’t just arrive when you become successful. 

Being confident means that when you do fail, you understand that it’s only a minor setback that can propel you forward.

You can easily pick yourself back up and keep going. 

Adopt a growth mindset and make a commitment to your personal development.

Read books, listen to podcasts, go to seminars. 

3. Planning and Preparation

The more you learn and understand something the easier it becomes and the more confident you will feel about it. 

So when it comes to prospecting a new person into your business, make sure you understand the business model properly.

You could even practise your presentation with your upline until you feel comfortable. 

Same goes for selling a product.

Get to know that product so well that when you speak about it, it comes across as authentic because you’ve done your due diligence.

4. Practice Positive Thinking

This is a lot easier said than done as it will take some time for you to learn how to reframe your thoughts. The first step is awareness and then from there you can refocus. 

As Tony Robbins says “where focus goes, energy flows,” so it’s really important to begin to replace negative thoughts with positive ones. 

This is not about bypassing real issues you may be facing, it’s simply bringing awareness to what thoughts we are having and replacing the negative with positive. 

When you do this, your internal focus changes your external focus and this changes your overall state of being which will make you feel more confident. 

5. Find Yourself a Confidence Role-Model

Whose self-confidence do you want to mirror?

Think of someone either in your life, like your upline or mentor, or someone well-known who you can look to as a role-model. 

Use this person as an expander of the confidence you wish to exude. Using others as an inspiration can be a powerful driving force in one’s life. 

6. Create Your Own Testimonials

Create your own testimonial for a product you’ve really benefited from or earning your first bit of income from your business. 

This will help to increase your confidence and show you what’s possible.

It will make you excited to share when prospecting. 

7. Be Assertive, But Avoid Arrogance

Being a people pleaser or pushover is not how you build confidence.

Be assertive when it comes to bringing your message across or when speaking in public. 

There’s a difference between being confident and arrogant. Remember to always stay humble and treat others with respect and compassion.

It’s imperative that you look after your health and wellbeing.

Make sure to exercise regularly and eat a well balanced diet.

How well you look after yourself will directly affect how confident you feel.

If you’re not moving your body and eating rubbish, you can’t expect to feel confident at all.

9. Speak Slowly

Confidence really shows in your ability to speak confidently, coherently and slowly. This is how you can show people you are trustworthy.

10. Improve Your Self-Talk 

This one is hard, I’m not going to lie.

Especially when we’ve been telling ourselves lies about who we think we are for a very long time. 

Start by bringing awareness to how you are talking to yourself throughout the day.

When you catch yourself saying something negative about yourself, reframe it to its positive opposite. 

For example, “I’m too old, no one will want to listen to me,” — reframe to “ I may be older, but that means I have more wisdom to share.” 

This one will take some practise, but one you cultivate that awareness you’ll be able to a lot more mindful with what you say to yourself.

11. Think of Something that Excites You

Get laser focused on your WHY.

Why are you building this business?

Why do you want to make more money?  

My why was I wanted to be able to pay for my kids to go to private school, support them completely and have time to be a full-time mum to them. 

Once I was clear on my why, nothing was going to stop me getting in the way of this, not even my low self-confidence at the time.

So I did whatever I had to, to become the confident person I am now.

12. Make Eye Contact 

Always make eye contact.

You don’t need to stare a person down, but nothing says “I’m confident” like looking a person in the eyes when speaking.

13. Adopt a Power Pose

This one is such a powerful tip and can literally make you feel more confident in a matter of seconds!

My go-to power pose is the superwoman pose.

Stand with your feet hip-width apart and place your hands on your hips with your chest slightly puffed. 

Do this pose now and observe the difference it immediately makes.

It makes me feel like a total boss babe who can do anything!

You could even stand like this just before you’re about to go prospect someone for that boost of confidence.

Or if you feel like someone is talking down to you, change your posture to this and feel into whether or not you’ll carry on taking their nonsense.

Confidence Building Exercises

While the tips above can help you embody more confidence, below are practical exercises you can do to put yourself out there so that you can begin to develop your confidence skills like a muscle. 

When we feel out of our comfort zone or a resistance to something, that is usually a sign of an area of growth we can embrace. 

I’ve provided some examples below, but feel free to create your own list:

  • Start a task or project that you’ve been putting off for a while. It’s so easy to put things off because they initially seem very overwhelming, but most often than not it’s starting that’s the hardest step. By simply taking initiative to just begin, you can boost that confidence within yourself and get it done.
  • The next time you are at a restaurant and there’s an issue with your order, kindly report it to the manager and leave a constructive complaint. Many people hate to do this, but it’s a good way to improve your confidence and assertiveness skills. This is a really good exercise for those that usually avoid doing this at all costs. Another option would be to say something positive and ask to see the manager or chef so you can tell them personally how much you enjoyed your meal. The point is to get comfortable with the uncomfortable. 
  • When you are in a public meeting or group setting stand up and ask a question. By doing this you are making yourself the centre of attention for a few minutes.
  • Volunteer to give a presentation or make a speech. When you first start recruiting people for your business or selling your products it’s going to be scary. You may not be great the first few times, but as the old adage goes, practice makes perfect. 
  • Introduce yourself to a new person. This could be anywhere – in the queue while you are waiting to get coffee or at the gym. 
  • Stand out by wearing something attention grabbing – such as a statement piece of clothing or garish colour. People with low self-confidence and self-esteem avoid being the centre of any kind of attention, so this is a good way to boost that. 
  • Meet new people and put yourself out there by joining a group or class in your local community. 
  • Mirror work – this may seem awkward at first, but talking to yourself in the mirror is a powerful way to build confidence. You can either say self-confidence affirmations to yourself or you could practice talking as if you were prospecting a new person or selling a product.

12pm – Lunchtime: Nutty Green Salad with Aloe and Soy

It’s time to nourish your body with a deliciously healthy lunch. 

Serves 4

Salad

1 tbsp Forever Bee Honey

2 tsp soy sauce

1 tsp vegetable oil

250g mangetout

4 chives, chopped

100g baby Asian leaves

110g salted peanuts

Dressing

55g salted peanuts

1 tbsp Forever Bee Honey

180ml vegetable stock

4 tsp toasted sesame seeds

3 tbsp thick dark soy

1 tbsp Forever Aloe Vera Gel

For the dressing, put the peanuts, honey, vegetable stock, sesame seeds, dark soy, and aloe gel in a food processor and blend. Set aside. 

For the salad, heat the honey, oil and soy sauce in a pan on a low heat. Add the mangetout and lightly fry for a few minutes. Remove from the heat and toss in the chives. 

Toss the mangetout mixture with the Asian leaves and sprinkle the peanuts on top. Serve with the dressing on the side. Add a protein of your choice to bulk it up if you’d like — tofu is a great addition!

3pm – Moisturise those lips!

Serves 4

320g rice

½ onion

1 tbsp seed oil

60g butter

40g parmesan cheese

50g cranberries

150ml Forever Aloe Berry Nectar

50g Mascarpone cheese

1 litre meat both

Salt and pepper to taste

Prepare the meat broth. In a pan, brown the onion with the seed oil and butter. Add the rice and Forever Aloe Berry Nectar.

Mix everything together. Slowly add the broth and cook for 20 minutes. Once cooked, stir with the mascarpone and parmesan cheese, cranberries and a small amount of Forever Aloe Berry Nectar.
